About MBPA

The national representative body for Malawi's beekeeping and bee products industry.

Established in 2008 and officially registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee in January 2026, MBPA unites the bee value chain to promote sustainable growth, investment, quality and market development.

Who we are

A united national platform for the bee value chain

The Malawi Bee Products Association is the national representative body for Malawi's beekeeping and bee products industry.

MBPA was originally established in 2008 through the COMAPASS II Project. It was later revitalised through a stakeholder-led process that broadened participation to producers, cooperatives, processors, traders, researchers, government institutions, development partners and private-sector actors.

In January 2026, the Association attained full legal status as a Company Limited by Guarantee, creating a stronger institutional foundation for representation, coordination and service delivery.
