From sector coordination to a formally registered national association
MBPA was established in 2008 and attained legal status as a Company Limited by Guarantee in January 2026.
Building a national voice for Malawi's bee products sector
MBPA has evolved from an early sector-coordination initiative into a formally registered national membership organisation.
Association established
MBPA was established through the COMAPASS II Project to support coordination and representation in the bee products sector.
Broader stakeholder participation
A stakeholder-led process widened membership across producers, cooperatives, processors, traders, research, government and the private sector.
Formal legal status
MBPA became a Company Limited by Guarantee, strengthening governance and institutional accountability.
Growth, quality and markets
The Association continues to strengthen membership, production, standards, value addition, market development, policy and partnerships.
