MBPA membership is open to individual beekeepers, cooperatives, associations, commercial enterprises and institutions contributing to Malawi's bee products sector.

Individual Beekeeper

Individual beekeepers and producers involved in the bee products value chain.

  • Designed for individual beekeepers, producers and value-chain participants working in their own capacity.
  • Provides access to MBPA representation, learning opportunities, market information and member networking.
  • The applicant completes the form using personal identification and contact information.

MBPA membership category

Small Cooperative/Association (up to 20 members)

Registered or recognised beekeeping groups with up to 20 members.

  • Designed for registered or recognised beekeeping groups with no more than 20 members.
  • Supports group visibility, sector coordination, market linkages and participation in MBPA activities.
  • The application should be completed by an authorised representative using accurate group details.

Medium Cooperative/Association (21-100 members)

Beekeeping cooperatives or associations with 21 to 100 members.

  • Designed for cooperatives and associations representing between 21 and 100 members.
  • Provides a national platform for coordination, learning, advocacy, partnerships and market development.
  • The application should identify the organisation and the authorised contact person responsible for the membership.

Large Cooperative/Association (over 100 members)

Beekeeping cooperatives or associations with more than 100 members.

  • Designed for established cooperatives and associations representing more than 100 members.
  • Supports large-scale member coordination, policy engagement, partnerships, exhibitions and sector representation.
  • The application should include accurate organisation and authorised representative information.

SME Commercial Enterprise

Small and medium honey processors, traders, equipment suppliers and commercial bee enterprises.

  • Designed for small and medium processors, traders, equipment suppliers and commercial bee enterprises.
  • Supports business networking, market access, technical learning, visibility and engagement across the value chain.
  • The applicant should provide the enterprise name, contact details and responsible representative.

Large Commercial/Export Enterprise

Large processors, exporters and commercial enterprises in the bee products sector.

  • Designed for large processors, exporters and commercial enterprises operating in the bee products sector.
  • Provides access to national representation, strategic partnerships, market-development initiatives and industry engagement.
  • The application should be submitted using the enterprise and authorised representative details.

Institutional/Associate Member

Research, academic, government, NGO, financial and development institutions supporting the sector.

  • Designed for research, academic, government, NGO, financial and development institutions supporting the sector.
  • Enables institutional collaboration, technical exchange, programme coordination and contribution to sector development.
  • The application should identify the institution and the authorised focal person responsible for the membership.
